How I approach a problem

I want to understand what an organisation is trying to achieve, how the work actually happens and where the opportunity lies. I then work through the detail: data, assumptions, permissions, handovers and the decisions people need to make.

My technical learning began with business modelling in Excel while I was a freelance consultant. I am self-taught in that work. Building and automating useful models led into analytical reporting, Power Platform development and, now, the design of AI-assisted workflows.

Where I am heading

I am interested in work that connects discovery, solution design, implementation and responsible adoption. Forward deployment and AI governance bring those concerns together, but the underlying problem matters more to me than a particular job title.

Metacog is my main research and development project. It explores how evidence, challenge and human authority can remain connected throughout AI-assisted professional work. The architecture needs testing through a demonstrator and real workflows.

What I bring

I can move between a commercial or organisational question and the implementation decisions it creates. Consulting taught me to examine viability and trade-offs. Public-sector analytical work developed my attention to evidence and interpretation. Building business applications brought those concerns into the workflow itself.
